Getting to know Coach Chic
Some 40-years ago, I had an awful time trying to find help -- as a coach, and as a hockey dad.
I've never been the type to give up, though, so I started reading everything I could find, from the US, Canada, and numerous European countries.
I even asked advice of local pro shop owners, I learned to sharpen skates, and I even learned to run the Zamboni.
My studies in the old USSR put me at least 15-years ahead of most coaches back home, who wouldn't discover some scientific principles until decades later.
My Physical Education Degree studies helped me understand all the sciences. However, I am perhaps best known today as a master of motor skill development.

Ironically, most high profile coaches don't even have degrees in the sciences, including those who attempt to analyze skills and attempt to advise you on things like skating mechanics.
